BYU Singers have left for their tour to Northern Nevada and California. They begin with a concert May 1 at the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Reno, Nevada. After a three-hour drive to Danville, California, on May 2, they will hold a music clinic and then a joint performance with the Monte Vista High School Choir at the Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church.
In the following days of the tour, BYU Singers will hold additional clinics with local high school choirs in California, including with the Castro Valley High School and Clovis West High School Choirs. BYU Singers will also perform a joint concert with the Castro Valley High School Choir.
While they are anticipating the challenge of 8 performances in the coming 10 days, group members are also excited about visiting some of the local areas, such as the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, the sights of San Francisco, and the California Trail Interpretive Center. The group also looks forward to giving service at the STEP2 rehabilitation center in Reno and at the St. Vincent de Paul homeless shelter in Oakland.
