AVA Nominations

BYU a cappella groups, Vocal Point and Noteworthy have been nominated for 2017 A Capella Video Awards (AVA) awarded by The Contemporary A Capella Society (CASA). Vocal Point received 6 nominations. Their music video Go the Distance (with All-American Boys Chorus) is in the Outstanding Collaborative Video and Best Musical/Soundtrack Video categories, Ultimate A Cappella Mashup: 25 Hits, 25 Years is running for Outstanding Costume/Make-up, and I Lived is in the category of Outstanding Editing. Both Ultimate A Cappella Mashup: 25 Hits, 25 Years and I Lived are nominated for Best Male Collegiate Video.

Noteworthy was nominated in Best Religious Video and Best Female Collegiate Video for Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone), which has over 17 million views on YouTube. Their Star Wars: A Capella Strikes Back video is in the Best Musical/ Soundtrack Video category.

CASA will announce the winners on February 4th at a live ceremony at the Los Angeles A Capella Festival. The nomination list can also be viewed here.
