The group’s three wins and two runner-up awards were presented at the annual BOSton Sings A cappella Festival, held in Boston by the Contemporary A Cappella Society (CASA).

Vocal Points wins were for the He is Born album and the single “He is Born.” Vocal Point was awarded runner-up in the categories of Best Holiday Album (He is Born) and Best Holiday Song (“God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen” from He Is Born), and was also nominated for Best Classical Song (“Homeward Bound“).

According to the CASA website,  “Contemporary A cappella Recording Awards (CARA) recognize the best of recorded a cappella music… Every year since 1992 hundreds of albums are considered in this celebration of the best a cappella recorded around the planet… we aim to reward artists that create outstanding work and to promote innovation, creativity, and continued growth of the a cappella modality. Furthermore, we aim to foster the a cappella community by having its best and brightest participate in the CARA nomination and judging process.”

Nominees in other categories included YouTube sensation Peter Hollens (who collaborated with Vocal Point in this viral video) and winner of The Sing-Off’s third season (in which Vocal Point competed) Pentatonix.
