Ballroom Dance Company, Folk Dance Ensemble, Noteworthy, and Vocal Point Take Off on Tours

The BYU Ballroom Dance Company will tour in South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique.

This week marked the beginning of exhilarating journeys for four distinguished BYU performing groups—the Ballroom Dance Company, Folk Dance Ensemble, Noteworthy, and Vocal Point—as they embarked to share their artistry on international stages.

The Ballroom Dance Company set out from Provo at the break of dawn on April 29, bound for Cape Town, South Africa. Over the next three weeks, they will captivate audiences with nine dazzling performances spanning four countries: South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. Beyond the spotlight, the company is committed to fostering cultural exchanges, participating in community outreaches, leading service projects, and engaging in spiritual devotionals throughout their African adventure.

BYU Folk Dance Ensemble will tour in Mexico and the southern United States.

On April 27, the Folk Dance Ensemble departed for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where they will showcase their talent at the esteemed Vallarta Azteca International Folk Dance Festival. After Mexico, they will fly to the southern United States to tour North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida. At each stop, they are sure to enchant audiences with their diverse repertoire and costumes that draw from cultures around the globe.

Noteworthy and Vocal Point left a few hours after the Ballroom Dance Company to begin their journey through South Korea, Mongolia, and Japan. This is Noteworthy and Vocal Point’s first ever extended tour together, and both groups are thrilled to share their talents and to uplift spirits at devotionals, workshops, outreaches, and an impressive lineup of performances.
