Wind Symphony

On the Trail to Texas

The BYU Wind Symphony is gearing up to say “howdy” to Texas for their 2019 spring tour, which starts this week.

Hosted by the BYU Alumni Texas Chapters, the tour will include guest artist Dr. Jason Bergman, an associate professor of trumpet at BYU. The tour will begin in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, home to several schools where Dr. Bergman previously worked, including the University of North Texas. While in the area, the Wind Symphony will work with students from Allen, Summit, and Haltom High Schools and perform for the local community.

The Wind Symphony will travel to Houston next, where they with perform at and hold a workshop with Cypress Springs High School. They will also give a concert at the University of Houston–Clear Lake’s Bayou Theater.

After a quick stop in Austin, the group will finish their tour in San Antonio, where they will visit the Alamo and San Antonio River Walk in addition to performing.
