The BYU Men’s Chorus has released a new four-track EP, I Need Thee Every Hour, which includes a blend of spirituals and Broadway classics. The EP includes heartfelt gospel songs such as I’m Gonna Sing When the Spirit Says Sing and Steal Away, celebrating the rich tradition of spirituals. These tracks honor the powerful emotional depth of this genre, rooted in African American history.
Broadway artist Dallyn Vail Bayles joins the choir on two tracks, bringing his powerful voice to I Need Thee Every Hour and the moving Bring Him Home from Les Misérables. Known for his roles in the touring productions of The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, and many others, Bayles adds a poignant dimension to these pieces, seamlessly blending his Broadway experience with the choir’s stirring sound.
In addition to the EP, the BYU Men’s Chorus has released a music video for I Need Thee Every Hour, bringing the piece to life in a visual format and inviting audiences to connect with its emotional message in a deeper way.
