Upon arriving in Wichita, Kansas, on Wednesday, April 27, BYU Vocal Point took the locals’ suggestion and got pizza slices—the size of their faces! The following night they kicked off The Magic Tour with a performance at Wichita’s 100-year-old Orpheum Theatre. This venue is a historic site that once hosted A-list performers like Louis Armstrong, among other big names. This show was followed by another fun and sold-out performance on Friday at the Liberty Performing Arts Theatre in Liberty, Missouri. Before their performance, they took an inspiring tour of Liberty Jail, a meaningful site for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
On Saturday morning, April 30, Vocal Point had the privilege of workshopping with youth from the area, including a local a cappella group. The energetic concert that evening was in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and was presented by the BYU Alumni Omaha Chapter.
Sunday was a much-needed day of rest for this hard-working group. They attended church with a local congregation and then toured Winter Quarters in Omaha, Nebraska. The week ended on a spiritual high note as they presented an evening devotional for church members.
