About
Synthesis
Synthesis combines swing, blues, jazz, Latin, and fusion styles into a feast of jazz entertainment. Some of Brigham Young University’s finest and most versatile musicians perform, arrange and compose for this award-winning ensemble. Synthesis has received enthusiastic responses from festival, student, and community gatherings throughout the world. In 2022 Synthesis was invited personally by Wynton Marsalis to perform as one of ten bands at the Jack Rudin Jazz Championship. They were awarded best trombone section and trumpet section as well as receiving outstanding soloist awards in each section of the ensemble at this prestigious competition.
